As the Magnes Museum in Berkeley prepared to launch a capital campaign that would help them move to a new location, they needed a memorable campaign identity that alluded to the idea of “Bridges,” the theme for the campaign. The initial in the symbol is a modern rendition of the vernacular seen in Hebrew characters. The mark was then adopted as the museum’s new permanent identity.
