Sun Edison launched their Eradication of Darkness initiative at the Central Park Hilton in New York City. The program provides mobile solar units that are intended for use in the developing world and can store up to 24 hours of energy supply for 55 homes. The company needed a compelling exhibit that would illustrate the capacity and impact of the units.

An 8-foot-diameter, eye-catching “sun” installation was designed—powered by the unit itself. The sun was surrounded with photos of actual people using the unit’s power for studying, cooking, and living their daily lives.
